Darren Micallef

Darren Micallef grew up in London, Ontario, and is the eldest of 3 sons. Some say this is where his passion for healthy debate and conflict resolution began.

Darren received his BA from the University of Western Ontario, majoring in Politics and Labour Studies and later obtained his Certificate in Human Relations at Fanshawe College. He has also earned CHRP status as well as a Conflict Resolution Certificate from the University of Western Ontario.

He has worked for several companies as a Human Resource Consultant and presently is the Administrator of a “state of the art” 96 bed Long Term Care Home in Strathroy, which he was instrumental in designing and building.

Much of his committee work is focused on the Long Term Care sector and in the community that he works. Darren is the…

  • Chair of the Facility Liaison Advocacy Group (FLAG)
  • Vice-Chair of the Middlesex Provider’s Alliance
  • LTC LHIN lead for the Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA)
  • Member of the LTC Priority Action Team of the SW LHIN
  • Member of the South Service Provider’s Council of the SW LHIN
  • Member of the Human Resource Committee for the Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA)
  • For a period of 10 years, he initiated and organized an annual golf tournament that generated over $100,000 for various charities such as Make-A-Wish Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society and Jesse’s Journey.

Darren is married to Sheri and he is the proud father of Brayden and Grace. Although a very busy man, he understands the importance of family life and finds time to be a soccer coach for his son and daughter’s teams.  He also enjoys spending time on the bench as a trainer for the local Minor Hockey Team.

Although success is important to Darren, he lives by the quote:

“Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value.” Einstein
